GENERAL INFORMATION
The Datalogic Gryphon L GD4300 is a premium grade general purpose hand-held laser 1D barcode scanner.
The GD4300 can read all standard 1d barcodes and both the linear and stacked versions of the GS1 DataBar.
The scanner comes in two colour schemes with a choice of two cable interfaces to suit standard applications or IBM/POS.
The Standard interface works with KBW, RS232, USB and Wand Emulation cables.
The IBM/POS interface works with IBM 46xx, RS232 and USB cables.
Some Gryphon L GD4300 models are available as Scanner Kits which include cables.
Other configurations can be built from Scanners, Cables and Power Supplies and Cords.
DIMENSIONS AND WEIGHT
The scanner dimensions are 181 x 71 x 100mm (7.1 x 2.8 x 3.9").
The weight is 0.169kg (0.38lb).
ENVIRONMENTAL
The scanner can withstand repeated 1.8m (5.9') drops to concrete.
The operating temperature for the scanner is 0º to 55ºC.
The scanner is sealed to IP52. It is protected to dust (with limited ingress) and withstands sprays of water 15º from the vertical.
POWER REQUIREMENTS
The standard interface scanner requires 4.75 to 5.25 VDC and the power requirement is 260mA at 5VDC.
The scanner with the IBM/POS interface requires 4.5 to 14.0 VDC and the power requirement is 185mA at 5VDC.

CABLES
The Datalogic Gryphon L GD4300 barcode scanner requires a cable for connection to PCs or other equipment.
The cable must match the scanner cable interface.
The GD4330 has the Standard interface which caters for Keyboard Wedge, RS232, USB and Wand Emulation cables.
The GD4310 has the IBM/POS interface which uses IBM 46xx, RS232 or USB cables.
The communication cable also carries power to the scanner.
Most USB, Keyboard Wedge, Wand Emulation and IBM 46xx connections are able to supply power directly to the scanner from the connected equipment. In some rare cases external power may be required.
Standard RS232 ports cannot provide power and RS232 connections will generally need the assistance of an external power supply.
Where external power is required a cable with an external power socket must be used.
