GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The PBT9500-DPM_EVO is an industrial Bluetooth wireless hand-held imager 1D and 2D barcode scanner with high density optics and special firmware for reading both printed barcodes and codes directly marked on products.
The scanners come with a removable battery.
The scanners come with a wide range of supporting equipment.
There is a choice of three Base/Chargers, a Charge Only Base and a Multi-Bay Battery Charger.
The scanners can be used directly with other Bluetooth equipment or in conjunction with a Base/Charger which works with Keyboard Wedge, RS232, USB cables or optionally Ethernet.
Some PowerScan PBT9500-DPM_Evo models are available as Scanner Kits with Base/Chargers and cables.
Other configurations can be built from the Scanners, Base/Chargers, Charger Only Bases, Battery Chargers, Cables, and Power Supplies and Cords.
DIMENSIONS AND WEIGHT
The scanner dimensions are 212 x 110 x 74mm (8.3 x 4.3 x 2.9") LxWxH.
The weight of the scanner is 0.380Kg (0.838lbs).
ENVIROMENTAL
The scanners can withstand 50 drops from 2M (6.6') to concrete.
The scanners are environmentally rated at IP65, which means that they are totally protected against dust and can withstand low pressure jets of water.
The cradles can withstand 50 drops from 1.2M (3.9') to concrete.
POWER REQUIREMENTS
The combined radio base and cradle needs power to charge the scanner battery and to communicate wirelessly with the scanner.
The scanner will only charge when placed in the cradle. Likewise the separate battery will only charge if placed in the optional spare battery slot.
Power can be obtained where available directly from the connected host or by connecting an external power supply.
Using host power this can take up to ten hours.
Using external power reduces the recharge time to about four hours.
If the scanner is to be used intensively it may be wise to charge a spare RBP-PM90 removable battery using a cradle fitted with a spare battery slot.
The input voltage is 10-30VDC and the maximum power is 800mA at 10VDC.
RESOLUTION AND READING RANGES
The PowerScan PBT9500-DPM Evo is fitted with high density fixed optics and is designed for working close to DPM or printed barcodes.
The reading distance for DPM codes will depend on the marking method, code symbology, code resolution, substrate and topology.
For printed barcodes the smallest barwidth for 1D codes is 2 mil and the smallest Data Matrix cell size is 4 mil, and the reading ranges for barcodes printed in black on white paper is as follows:
2 mil: 2.8 to 6.3cm (1.1 to 2.4")
2.5 mil: 2.5 to 7.8cm (0.9 to 3.0")
5 mil: 1.2 to 9.0cm (0.4 to 3.5")
4 mil: Data Matrix: 2.6 to 5.2cm (1.0 to 2.0")
5 mil: Data Matrix: 2.2 to 7.2cm (0.8 to 2.8")
10 mil: Data Matrix: 2.0 to 10.5cm (0.8 to 4.1")
5 mil: PDF: 1.2 to 9.0cm (0.4 to 3.5")
