GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Datalogic PD9500 is a family of industrial imager hand-held 1D and 2D barcode scanners.
Three models are available.
The PD9530 comes with Standard Optics and needs 5V.
The PD9530-HP comes with High Performance Liquid Lens Optics and needs 5V.
The PD9530-HPE comes with High Performance Liquid Lens Optics but requires 10-30 VDC power.
These scanners read all standard 1D barcodes, 2D codes, Postal codes and Stacked codes including the GS1 variants.
The scanners work with RS232, USB and Keyboard Wedge cables.
Power Supplies are available for 5V and 12V.
UK and EU mains power cords are available.
Accessories include a Holster, a Desk/Wall Holder and an Industrial Take-up Reel for dangle suspension.
DIMENSIONS AND WEIGHT
The scanner dimensions are 212 x 110 x 74mm (8.3 x 4.3 x 2.9") LxWxH.
The weight of the scanner is 0.330Kg (0.725lbs).
ENVIRONMENTAL
The scanner can withstand 50 drops from 2m (6.6') to concrete.
The scanner is sealed to IP65, which means that it is totally protected against dust and can withstand low pressure jets of water.
POWER REQUIREMENTS
The PD9530 and the PD9530-HP needs a 5VDC power source and requires up to 335mA.
The PD9530-HPE works with 10-30VDC power supplies. The scanner requires up to 135mA power at 10VDC.
RESOLUTION AND READING RANGES
STANDARD OPTICS
The standard optics have a fixed focus is optimised for reading medium and low resolution codes.
The reading distance is from close contact to over 800mm (31.5").
The smallest barwidth for 1D codes is 4 mil.
The smallest Data Matrix cell size is 7.5 mil.
The reading ranges are as follows:
4mil:6.0 to 17.0cm (2.3 to 6.7")
7.5mil:Data Matrix:9.0 to 12.0cm(3.5 to 4.7")
10mil:Data Matrix:4.0 to 18.0cm(1.5 to 7.0")
10mil:PDF417:2.0 to 25.0cm(0.8 to 9.8")
13mil:4.0 to 45.0cm(1.5 to 17.7")
20mil:4.0 to 55.0cm(1.5 to 21.6")
40mil:4.0 to 85.0cm(1.5 to 33.4")
HIGH PERFORMANCE LIQUID LENS OPTICS
The high performance liquid lens optics allows the imager to adapt the focus at different reading distances. This effectively combines three scanners into one such that:
- at less than 150mm (6") the device behaves as a high density scanner which can read 2.5mil 1D codes and 4mil 2D codes.
- between 150mm (6") and 500mm (19.7") the device is effectively a wide angle scanner which can read any barcode including very wide ones.
- at greater than 500mm (19.7") the scanner can read medium and low resolution barcodes.
The reading ranges are as follows:
2.5mil:2.0 to 6.0cm (0.8 to 2.3")
4mil:Data Matrix:2.0 to 6.0cm(0.8 to 2.3")
10mil:Data Matrix:2.0 to 20.0cm(0.8 to 7.8")
