The Datalogic PowerScan PD9630-DPX is a family of ultra rugged hand-held corded DPM barcode scanners.
WHERE DOES THE POWERSCAN PD9630-DPX FIT?
The PowerScan PD9630-DPX replaces the PD9531-DPM and is part of the PowerScan 9600 family.
The PowerScan 9600 family is the latest in a long line of PowerScan Industrial barcode scanners.
The PowerScan PD9630-DPX is the corded model for DPM barcodes.
The other members of the family are cordless scanners.
WHERE IS THE POWERSCAN PD9630-DPX USED?
All models of the PowerScan PD9630-DPX are aimed at Direct Part Mark (DPM) applications which require industrial strength.
WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT THE POWERSCAN PD9630-DPX?
TOUGHNESS
The PowerScan PD9630-DPX is tough enough for most applications.
It can be dropped from a height of 2m to concrete.
It works at temperatures down to -20ºC.
It is totally sealed to dust and withstands temporary immersion in water up to 1m.
POWERSCAN 9600-DPX OPTICS
The PowerScan PD9630-DPX omnidirectional imager is an advanced scanner.
It has a dedicated multi-colour illumination system, a time of flight sensor, liquid lens auto-focus and comes with the patented 4D learning system which automatically chooses the best combination for reading the barcode under inspection. There is no need for manual intervention.
The PowerScan PD9630-DPX can read DPM barcodes made by the mainstream methods and include Electrochemically Etched, Ink Jet Printed, Laser Engraved or Dot Peened.
It can also read 1D/2D printed barcodes.
A red dot is projected onto the barcode to assist aiming.
After a successful read occurs a green spot is projected onto the barcode.
MOTIONIX TECHNOLOGY
The PowerScan PD9630-DPX uses Datalogic Motionix Technology to make life easier.
Motionix automatically detects when the scanner is held in the hand and switches to hand-held mode. When the scanner is placed on a stand it switches to presentation mode.
GOOD-READ FEEDBACK
The PowerScan PD9630-DPX uses Datalogic 3GL (3 Green Lights) Technology.
Good barcode reads are indicated by three green lights, a loud beeper and a green spot projected onto the barcode.
The scanner handle also vibrates.
5-30VDC POWER
All PowerScan PD9630-DPX models can handle 5 to 30VDC ± 5%.
This voltage range covers a huge range of hardware scenarios and caters for the low voltage DC rings widely found in industry.

There are three Ethernet modules which can be used with PD9630 corded scanners.
The PowerScan PD9630-DPX Scanner is connected to the module by a CAB-559 RS232 cable using the D Connector at the rear of the module.
The modules are typically connected to a PLC.
CM9680 CONNECTION MODULE
The CM9680 is protected to IP40 and can be used for Ethernet and Profinet.
The module has an Ethernet socket and requires a 12VDC power supply.
The PowerScan PD9630-DPX scanner is connected via a CAB-559 RS232 scanner cable.
