WHAT IS THE DATALOGIC POWERSCAN PM9501-AR?
The Datalogic PowerScan PM9501-AR is a hand-held STAR Cordless System 1D/2D barcode scanner with Auto Range Optics.
WHERE DOES THE POWERSCAN PM9501-AR FIT?
The PowerScan PM9501-AR replaces the PM9300-AR and is part of the PowerScan 9501 family.
Other Auto Range members of the family are the PowerScan PBT9501-AR which is a Bluetooth scanner and the PowerScan PD9531-AR corded scanner.

WHERE IS THE POWERSCAN PM9501-AR USED?
The PowerScan PM9501-AR is aimed at General Purpose applications where the barcodes can be located from close-up to 20m from the scanner.
Typical uses are warehousing applications where the barcodes could be nearby or on a pallet on the top tier of the warehouse racking.
WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT THE POWERSCAN PM9501-AR?
STAR CORDLESS SYSTEM
The PowerScan PM9501-AR uses the STAR Cordless System which offers two way communication.
This means that those PowerScan PM9501-AR scanners which have screens and keypads offer interactive systems. This vastly extends the range of applications.
The PowerScan PM9501-AR can also be used with the STAR Cordless System USB Industrial Dongle accessory which allows up to sixteen PowerScan PMxx scanners to be connected to any device with a USB port.
POWERSCAN 9501 OPTICS
The PowerScan PM9501-AR has Auto Range Optics which can auto focus very quickly on 1D/2D barcodes from close-up to about 20m away.
Aiming at up to about 5m is assisted by a projected red block.
At longer distances a laser finder is available to identify the barcode.
When a successful read occurs a green spot is projected onto the barcode.
MOTIONIX
The PowerScan PM9501-AR uses Datalogic Motionix Technology to make life easier.
Motionix automatically detects when the scanner is held in the hand and switches to hand-held mode.
When the scanner is placed on a stand it switches to presentation mode.
3GL
The PowerScan PM9501-AR uses Datalogic 3GL (3 Green Lights) Technology.
Good barcode reads are indicated by three green lights, a loud beeper and a green spot projected onto the barcode.

There are several different STAR Cordless System PowerScan Industrial Charge and Communications Bases.
All can only charge one scanner at a time.
Each can support communication with up to sixteen scanners.
Most have a cable interface for KBW, RS232 and USB Cables for communication with a host computer.
One also supports RS485 communication.
Another only supports Ethernet communication.
Some of the Bases have a Spare Battery Slot which can concurrently charge a Removable Battery.

The input voltage requirements for the PowerScan PM9501-AR are as follows.
The Charge and Communication base requires 5V power from the host or an external power of 10 to 30V when connected to the auxiliary power port.
The charge time using Host Power is 10 hours which reduces to 4.5 hours using External Power.
Use of a 12V Power Supply is recommended.

DELIVERY
Our standard charge for 2-3 day delivery to most locations in mainland UK is £10.
This charge is subject to a weight limit of 20Kg.
For consignments which are heavier than 20Kg we reserve the right to add a surcharge.
If your order includes products from more than one manufacturer we may need to ship items from more than one warehouse and in such circumstances there may be a carriage surcharge.
We will agree any carriage surcharge with you before accepting your order.
