STAR CORDLESS SYSTEM
The PowerScan PM9501-DPM EVO can be paired with a STAR Cordless System Base or a STAR Cordless System USB Industrial Dongle which can be connected to any host computer with a USB port.
DIRECT PART MARK
Direct Part Marking is a term used for placing barcodes directly on the surface of an object rather using printed barcodes on self adhesive labels. The marking technologies include laser engraving, chemical etching, ink jet printing and dot peening. These vary in terms of cost, marking time and permanance of the result. Laser engraving is commonly used and is readable by good grade barcode scanners.
Dot peening involves punching holes into hard metal surfaces in patterns which conform to Data Matrix symbols. Reading these marks involves specialised barcode scanners.
The PowerScan PM9501-DPM EVO adds Direct Part Marks including Dot Peened Data Matrix to the huge range of 1D barcodes, 2D codes, Postal Codes and Stacked codes already handled by the Powerscan family.
TOUGHNESS
The PowerScan PM9501-DPM EVO is a rugged industrial scanner.
It can be dropped from a height of 2m to concrete.
It operates at -20º to 50ºC.
It is sealed to IP65 which means it is fully protected against the ingression of dust and that it can withstand low pressure jets of water.
The PowerScan PM9501-DPM EVO can be used outdoors.
POWERSCAN PM9501-DPM EVO OPTICS
The PowerScan PM9501-DPM EVO has DPM EVO optics for DPM applications.
The scanner has an advanced 864 x 544 pixels sensor with soft white pulsing illumination.
The precise aiming system features four red dots which are projected onto the barcode.
When a barcode has been read successfully a green spot is projected onto it.
MOTIONIX TECHNOLOGY
The PowerScan PM9501-DPM EVO uses Datalogic Motionix Technology to make life easier.
Motionix automatically detects when the scanner is held in the hand and switches to hand-held mode.
When the scanner is placed on a stand it switches back to presentation mode.
3GL
The PowerScan PM9501-DPM EVO uses Datalogic 3GL (3 Green Lights) Technology.
Good barcode reads are indicated by three green lights, a loud beeper and a green spot projected onto the barcode.

Most of the STAR Cordless System Bases have a KBW, RS232 and USB cable interface for communication with a host computer.
One also supports RS485.
One of the Bases only supports Ethernet communication.
Some of the Bases have a Spare Battery Slot which can concurrently charge a Removable Battery.

5 ±10% VDC can be supplied via the scanner cable from the host computer or from a 5V power supply connected to the cable.
The correct power supply must be used and you should seek advice before connecting the equipment if the host power exceeds 5V.
10 to 30 VDC can be supplied directly to the Auxiliary Power Port on the Base.
The latter is usually preferred because it halves the time required to recharge the scanner battery.

Our standard charge for 2-3 day delivery to most locations in mainland UK is £10.
This charge is subject to a weight limit of 20Kg.
For consignments which are heavier than 20Kg we reserve the right to add a surcharge.
If your order includes products from more than one manufacturer we may need to ship items from more than one warehouse and in such circumstances there may be a carriage surcharge.
