WHAT IS THE HONEYWELL GRANIT XP 1990IXLR?
The Honeywell Granit XP 1990iXLR is an extremely rugged industrial 1D/2D Corded Barcode Scanner for extra long range barcode scanning at up to 24m.
A high-resolution sensor and enhanced decoding algorithms provide fast scanning of good quality barcodes and the ability to decode poor quality and damaged barcodes.

WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT THE GRANIT XP 1990IXLR?
The Granit XP 1990iXLR is well suited for extreme conditions.
The scanners have exceptional drop test specifications.
The scanners operate in a wide temperature range from -30ºC to 50ºC.
The scanners have environmental sealing rated at both IP65 and IP67 when used with the available industrial cables.
IP65 means that the scanner is totally protected against dust.
IP67 means that the scanner is protected against the effects of immersion.
The scanner has an exceptionally long range and can read barcodes at up to 24m.
In addition the Granit XP 1990iXLR comes with an enhanced Laser Finder which can work in the lower light levels commonly found in warehouses. The scanner also has a mechanism for working oudoors in bright sunshine.

SCANNER KITS
Factory made Scanner Kits are available fitted with a choice of USB or RS232 cable.
CUSTOM CONFIGURATIONS
Custom configurations may be made comprising an XLR scanner plus a USB, RS232 or Keyboard Wedge cable and, if appropriate, a power supply.
CABLES
Scanner Cables are required to connect Granit XP 1990iXLR corded scanners to a host computer.
The cables carry power to the scanner and provide a communication pathway with the host.
A range of scanner cables is available. Some of these cables are able to provide power directly from the host computer.
Others need the assistance of an external power supply which is plugged into the cable.
Scanner Cables are available for working with Keyboard Wedge, RS232 and USB interfaces.
KEYBOARD WEDGE SCANNER CABLES
Keyboard Wedge Scanner Cables plug into the Host Keyboard circuit using Mini-DIN connectors.
External Power Supplies are required to protect the keyboard circuits.
Most modern equipment now uses USB Keyboards.
RS232 SCANNER CABLES
RS232 is extensively used as a general purpose connection method.
Most modern RS232 equipment now uses a version of RS232 called TTL Serial which employs 5V Signals.
Some older equipment still uses 12V RS232C signals. RS232 True Converter cables cater for this need.
Most RS232 Ports cannot provide power and need an external Power Supply to be connected to the scanner cable.
Where an RS232 port does supply power it usually does so through Pin 9 and a special Scanner Cable must be used.
Most modern RS232 Scanner Cables are fitted with a Female DB9 Connector.
USB SCANNER CABLES
Although USB is a rapidly evolving standard there are currently two main types of USB Cable.
USB Type A Cables provide 5V Power and a communication path via a single cable and connect with a single plug.
USB Power Plus Cables have a special dual plug.
External Power Supplies are not required for the USB Scanner Cables.
POWER SUPPLIES
Depending on the type of cable a 5VDC power supply may be required.
