GENERAL INFORMATION
The TSC MX640P is a solidly built heavy duty industrial label printer. It measures 393mm (15.47") x 300mm (11.81") x 510mm (20.8") (HxWxD) and weighs 18kg (39.67lbs).
The printer has an easy to use user interface based on a colour LCD touch screen and six buttons.
The MX640P comes with a fast 536Mhz processor and 512MB of SDRAM and 512MB Flash memory. The Flash can be expanded by inserting a microSD Card with up to 32GB memory in the slot on the rear of the printer.
The printing resolution is 600dpi but other models come with 203dpi or 300dpi.
The MX640P prints at speeds of up to 6ips on thermal transfer label media using printer ribbons up to 600M long. It also prints on direct thermal labels without a ribbon.
The label media is on industry standard 3" cores.
The printer runs under TSC-EZ which is compatible with both Zebra ZPL and EPL.
The MX640P has Serial, USB, Ethernet and two USB Host ports for stand-alone applications.
The standard media handling is tear-off.
COMMUNICATIONS
The standard MX640P model has USB 2.0, Serial, Ethernet, two USB Host ports and a Real Time Clock.
The USB Host ports are used for connecting USB barcode readers and USB keyboards as input devices for stand-alone printing applications.
A Bluetooth module is available which plugs into the serial port.
MEDIA HANDLING
The standard model offers "tear-off" mode where the printed stationery is removed by pulling it against a tear bar.
LABEL MEDIA
The MX640P can handle rolls of outside wound label stationery up to 203.2mm (8") outer diameter on 76.2mm (3") cores.
Alternatively label media can be fed into the printer via a slot in the rear of the printer casing.
The media width can be from 20mm (0.78") to 114mm (4.49"). The maximum printable width is 104mm (4.09").
The minimum label length in tear off mode is 3mm (0.1") and the maximum print length is 2540mm (100").
When using the peeler module the minimum label length and the maximum print length is 25.4mm (1") to 152" (6").
When using a cutter the minimum label length is 25.4mm (1").
The label media types can be continuous, die-cut, notched or black marked.
The minimum gap for die cut labels is 2mm.
The MX640P has an adjustable label gap sensor and an adjustable black line sensor.
THERMAL TRANSFER RIBBONS
The MX640P is a thermal transfer printer which can print on thermal transfer label media with the aid of a thermal transfer ribbon.
These ribbons are inside or outside wound on cores with an outer diameter of 25.4mm (1").
The maximum roll diameter is 90mm (3.54") which equates to a ribbon length of 600M (1331') for standard ribbons.
The ribbon width can be from 40mm (1.57") to 115mm (4.52").

MX640P printers work with thermal transfer (TT) or direct thermal (DT) media.
TT media needs a ribbon. DT does not.

Our standard charge for 2-3 day delivery to most locations in mainland UK is £10.
This charge is subject to a weight limit of 20Kg.
For consignments which are heavier than 20Kg we reserve the right to add a surcharge.
If your order includes products from more than one manufacturer we may need to ship items from more than one warehouse and in such circumstances there may be a carriage surcharge.
