Buyers Guide
GENERAL INFORMATION
The TTP-286MT Series consists of the 203dpi TTP-286MT and the 300dpi TTP-384MT.
Both these printers are "8 inch" thermal transfer (TT) printers which work with label stationery from 101.6 to 241.3mm (4 to 9.5") wide and the maximum printable width is 216mm (8.5") for the 203dpi model and 219.5mm (8.64") for the 300dpi model.
The 203dpi models have a maximum print speed of 152mm (6") per second.
The 300dpi models have a maximum print speed of 104mm (4") per second.
The printers have the following dimensions 440mm (17.32") x 514mm (13.23") x 514mm (19.84") (W x H x D) and weigh 23.7kg (52.14lbs).
PRINTER LANGUAGES
The printers run under TPSL-EZ which emulates Zebra ZPL and Zebra EPL and can also be programmed to create stand-alone applications.
FONTS AND BARCODES
The printers come with 8 alpha-numeric bitmap fonts and the CG Triumvirate Bold Condensed scaleable font.
The printers can print most 1D barcodes and Data Matrix, QR code, PDF417, Maxicode and Aztec 2D symbols.
INTERFACE OPTIONS
The printers come with USB 2.0, Serial, Parallel and Ethernet LAN communications, and a 32GB SD card slot.
Bluetooth is a user installable accessory which plugs into the Serial port.
MEDIA HANDLING
The label media can be fed through a slot in the rear of the printer or internally housed as outside wound rolls up to 208.3mm (8.2") diameter on a 76.2mm (3") core.
The printer offers tear-off where the printed stationery is removed by pulling it against a tear bar.
LABEL SENSORS
The printers have an adjustable transmissive gap sensor which works with die-cut label stationery, and labels and tags punched with suitable holes.
The printers also have an adjustable reflective sensor for label stationery with black registration marks printed on the under surface.
MEMORY
The printers come with 512MB Flash and 256MB DRAM memory.
The Flash memory can be expanded by up to 32GB by inserting a SD card in the slot.
LABEL MEDIA
The TSC TTP-384MT Series are thermal transfer (TT) printer models and can print on TT label media with a ribbon or on direct thermal (DT) label media without a ribbon.
The label media must be outside wound and can be continuous, die-cut, black marked, fan-fold or notched. The media width can be from 101.6 to 421.3mm (4 to 9.5") wide.
The minimum label height is 25.4mm (1") and the maximum width is reduced to 215.9mm (8.5") when using a cutter.
The outer diameter of the label media rolls must not exceed 208.3mm (8.2") and the core size is 76.2mm (3").
THERMAL TRANSFER RIBBONS
The ribbons can be inside or outside wound in rolls of up to 90mm (3.54") on 25.4mm (1") cores.
The ribbon length corresponds to a maximum of 600m (1968').
The ribbon width is 110 to 254mm (4 to 10").
